For the first time ever, The Regent Theatre on Collins St Melbourne will house an opera, and we have 3 double passes to give away!

Wagner’s powerful psychological drama Tannhäuser – starring Transylvanian tenor Marius Vlad – will open on Sunday 14 August and three lucky readers (and their guests!) will be in the audience for this special event.

With company of over 130 singers and musicians, this new production features extensive video art by Green Room Award winner Zoe Scoglio and will be directed by Suzanne Chaundy as part of Melbourne Opera’s 2016 season.

Joining Marius Vlad are Herald Sun Aria winners Lee Abrahmsen and Jason Wasley as Elizabeth and Walther respectively. Sarah Sweeting performs the sensually commanding role of Venus, with Manfred Pohlenz in the pivotal role of Wolfram.
