Himmelweg – Giveaway

AussieTheatre has two DOUBLE PASSES to giveaway for the upcoming Melbourne Premiere of Himmelweg at Theatre Works, St Kilda.

This powerful piece of theatre, written by acclaimed playwright Juan Mayorga, is based on real events and explores propaganda at its most deadly.

On June 23 1944, the Nazis permitted an inspection of the Theresienstadt Concentration Camp by the Red Cross in order to dispel terrifying rumours of genocide. What the inspectors witnessed sent chills down their spines – it was a hauntingly peaceful community of Jews. There was no barbed-wire, no starving children, no mass graves, no torture and no gas chamber; this was not the death camp they had been told of.

Had they got it all wrong? Were the Nazis actually doing something right? “Operation Embellishment” was in full effect. If only they had looked a little closer…

Tickets in this giveaway are for Friday 22 June 2012 and winners will be notified by email/phone.
