Video Interview: 5pound theatre present Rhinoceros for the Melbourne Fringe

Last week, I visited the most gorgeous little venue in Richmond – The Owl and The Pussycat – to have a stickybeak. This art gallery-come-performance-space is light and bright in the daytime, but at night plays host to the play Rhinoceros for the duration of the Melbourne Fringe Festival.

Jason Cavanagh (founder of 5pound theatre), and Sussanah Frith (an actor in the company) sat down with me to talk about their new venue, their show, and their hopes for the future of 5pound theatre. With a 50 seat theatre upstairs (in what is Jason’s old bedroom), a large art gallery space out front and a funky little bar below the stairs, the unlikely performance space is sure to turn a few heads.
