Onegin – Australian Ballet Photo Feature

The Australian Ballet are celebrating a milestone birthday this year. Artistic Director David McAllister programmed Onegin, one of the greatest ballets of the 20th Century as part of the National Ballet Company’s 50th birthday celebrations.

“We couldn’t go past Onegin in our 50th year”, he said. “This production is an absolute favourite amongst dancers, as it’s hugely challenging with its mix of beautiful dancing and intense emotional acting.”

Since its debut in 1976, Onegin has been a favourite of the Australian Ballet, and this tragic Russian drama of deadly duels and unrequited love was photographed by Belinda Strodder from ArtsPhotography for AussieTheatre.
