 Today we feature Peter Coombe (yes, that’s right – THE legendary Peter Coombe) as he talks about his Sydney Fringe Festival Show Wash Your Kids in Orange Juice. 

A musical menu of the stickiest, ickiest, squashiest, crunchiest, yummiest, spaghetti bolognaisiest, wash your face in orange juiciest food! Peter Combe, the master chef of children’s songwriters, dishes up a new quirky, interactive fringe show for kids. Bring a cushion!

 What three words best describe your Fringe show? Quirky, tasty, singalongy! Who does your show speak to? Children but also their parents and grandparents What do you love most about the Sydney Fringe? Not having performed at it before, am yet to find out, but loved performing at Edinburgh and especially Adelaide. How many Fringes and festivals have you performed in? Approx 20 If you could invite anyone to see your show (and you know they would come), who would it be? John Clarke What is the best theatre advice you’ve received? Just be myself. What was your most embarrassing moment on stage? Realizing I’d left my guitar back in the motel room 45 mins drive away! Do you have any pre- or post-show rituals? Go to the loo 2 mins before going on stage
What was the last book you read? Sand and Stone by Heather Steen What TV show do you never miss? Q & A What film will you watch again and again? Shadowlands Who will hate your Fringe show? Hopefully no one! What was your first time on stage? As an 11 year old in Grade 7 in the Adelaide Town hall What director/actor/writer would you just die to work with? Richard Attenborough What is your favourite theatre space in Sydney? The Oxford Art Factory
How do you have your coffee? Latte What’s the best pizza topping? Vegetarian and fish What do love most about your Fringe show? It’s enjoyed by people of all ages.
