A Quick Chat With Dave Willetts

Dave Willetts – Headshot
Dave Willetts

West End performer Dave Willetts toured Australia in the role of Jean Valjean in the 10th anniversary tour of Les Miserables, 1997-1998.

He has also worked closely with Australian writers Tony Rees and Gary Young on their musical project Jekyll which opened in 1996 in the UK, but unfortunately failed to make it to the West End.

Dave will be releasing his 25th Anniversary album entitled Once In A Lifetime on May 28, and we thought it would be a great idea to feature him on AussieTheatre!

The album will be in Australia from Middle 8 Music.

1. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Happy

10. What is the best thing about theatre in Australia/England
and
11. What’s the worst thing about theatre in Australia/England?

I don’t think you can differentiate between countries. Theatre is theatre wherever you are, actors are actors. One of the best things about theatre is the creative process during rehearsals. The worst is if a show closes earlier than planned.
