‘Faith is the bird who feels the light when the dawn is still dark.’ Rabindranath Tagore
YERMA is the first live performance for Dionysus Theatre since 2019 and we would love you all to come and celebrate with us!
After years of childless marriage turn into despair, ridicule and unyielding sorrow, Yerma’s yearning for motherhood grows into a blinding obsession. Originally written in 1934 and forming the second part of Lorca’s ‘Rural Trilogy’, Yerma explores the immutable plight of a young woman, desperate to conceive and the bitterness that births when disillusionment and dreams are slowly crushed by the passage of time.
Directed by Melanie Thomas and Choreography from Cadi MacInnes. Featuring an all original score by NEAON (Sheridan Killingback).
Starring: Freya Timmer-Arends and Alexander Loadman with James Dale, Roisin O’Neill, Elise D’Amico, Catherine Baker, and Madeline Rintoul.
As this is our very first listing on Aussie Theatre, we are giving you exclusive access to our promo code BREATHE for discounted tickets!
