Based on the George Orwell novel of the same name, Northern Ballet’s production of 1984will change your perceptions of ballet.
Northern Ballet is a Leeds (UK) based dance company who focus on storytelling through dance. Created by guest Choreographer and former Royal Ballet Dancer Jonathan Watkins, 1984 follows Winston Smith living in a world closely monitored by Big Brother, and his silent rebellion against the government.
The ballet is available to watch online until May 2nd, as part of the company’s Pay As You Feel digital season.
The production is free to stream, but The Northern Ballet are collecting donations for the company from those willing and able to contribute.
