Hello readers and welcome once again to community theatre with me.  Well I am only 6 weeks out from opening with All Shook Up and I have hit the wall a bit.  It’s the feeling of panic when you realise that we’ve had so much rehearsal time and so little time left.  With that so little time left there is so much to do!!!!  In saying so much I mean most of the second act.  Now this is no fault of anyone, well maybe but I am not pointing fingers.

It is always around this point in time I need inspiration to keep going.  Now a few weeks ago I attended a performance of Mamma Mia.  I was so excited as I had seen the show 8 times when it toured last. I nestled into my seat and some wonderful audience members sat behind us and by intermission I knew their whole life story as they spoke throughout the whole first half.  Now having said that I found the show a tad flat and it didn’t keep my attention or inspire me which did disappoint me a bit.

We decided to go again on Thursday night, what a difference!!!  The show had energy and reinvigorated me to get back into rehearsals.  Sometimes you need that buzz to re-energise you when you hit the wall.  Now I will go back into rehearsals on Monday to take on the challenge of Act 2 and remembering which way my bloody feet have to move in Blue Suede Shoes.

Now I know a few shows are coming to into their final preparations before opening night and hopefully over the next few weeks I will bring you an insider’s look at these productions.  If you’d like to take part in this email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Until next time enjoy yourselves and start booking to see a community theatre show.
