LUKE BARRON
Originally from Canberra, though spending a majority of his time growing up
overseas due to his father being a diplomat, Luke graduated from the Western Australian
Academy of Performing Arts in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts (Music Theatre), and has
participated in screen workshops with renowned Australian Film & TVC casting director,
Toni Higginbotham.
His WAAPA stage credits included Monteverdi's L'ORFEO, THE KING STAG, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF
(Russian), A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE (Mitch/Steve), JACQUES BREL IS ALIVE AND WELL AND
LIVING IN PARIS (Soloist/Ensemble), JONAH (Pasch), THE WITCHES OF EASTWICK (Raymond Neff)
and MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG (Joe). Whilst at WAAPA, Luke feels fortunate to have worked with
professionals such as: David King, Ross Coleman, Tony Sheldon, Liz Pascoe, Leith Taylor,
Adam Cook, Andrew Lewis, Sally Richardson and Marcelle Schmitz.
Credits prior to WAAPA include a variety of short films, cabaret, corporate events, a
local 'covers' band and appearances in close to 20 musicals including SWEET CHARITY
(Oscar), HALF A SIXPENCE (Kipps), FIDDLER ON THE ROOF (Motel), A CHORUS LINE and HAIR.
On the new Australian musicals front, Luke has been involved in two workshop productions.
The first being, CAREFUL, HE MIGHT HEAR YOU (Mr Hood) with Toni Lamond, book and music by
David Sale and Ron Creager. The second being THE HATPIN (Edward Cleary) with Amanda
Muggleton and a cast of up-and-coming stars, book by James Millar and music by Peter
Rutherford.
Luke was artistic director for the Canberra production of RENT. He appeared in cabaret in
TEN THINGS I HATE ABOUT CABARET, at Teatro Vivaldi's Restaurant (Canberra) and The
Statement Lounge (Sydney) with Peter Rutherford. The Sydney season was very successful and
a return season is on the cards. They are in the process of making arrangements to return
the show to Sydney at the end of 2006 to early 2007 before looking at seasons in
Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide. More recently, the show won BEST CABARET ACT 2006 from the
AussieTheatre.com website.
As well as recording a few solo tracks for an upcoming collaborative CD (being released
later in 2007), other appearances include: Peter Cousens' KOOKABURRA NATIONAL THEATRE
COMPANY LAUNCH (Sydney) in 2006, HATS OFF 2006, ANNUAL CABARET SHOWCASE COMPETITION 2005
(El Rocco Room, Sydney), OPEN MIC IDLE and in the cabaret show, LEGENDS with Enda Markey
and Liston Williams. Short films include: APARTMENT 605, LIFE EXPECTANCY, I JUST CAN'T
STAND CERISE and the Tropfest Film, POLAROID PURSUITS. He has also appeared several times
on HOME AND AWAY for Channel 7.
At present, he is performing in a six month touring contract with Opera Australia's
PIRATES OF PENZANCE, alongside David Campbells Pirate King (formerly played by
Anthony Warlow) and David Hobson, with Dennis Olsen in the role of the Major General. The
show recently toured Sydney, Canberra and Brisbane and will conclude in Adelaide in
January 2007. The show is going to Melbourne in 2007 but cast has not been finalised. For
the Adelaide leg of the tour, Luke will be covering the role of 'Samuel'. Next he is due
to shoot a small role in an upcoming film directed by Phillip Eastgate. He will be moving
to the UK by the end of 2007 to pursue further opportunities in music theatre and
television. |

KARINA GREEN
Born in Sydney, Karina Green started performing at an early age in most areas of
the industry. Her first taste of show biz came at age ten advertising the play Jack &
the Bean Stalk at Woodstock Players Community Radio Station. At age thirteen, Karina
played A Pirate in Disneys Peter Pan (the Ballet). During her school years, Karina
started writing songs and sang in School Assemblies.
A former student of the Elite School of Singing, Karina completed the 2001 Power of Acting
(Theatre) program at the Australian Actors Centre. Her Actors Centre credits include: The
Heart of Antarra, and A Road less Traveled. During her time at the Actors Centre, Karina
participated in the opening ceremony of the 2001 NRL Season, at Sydney's Stadium
Australia, and joined the ensemble cast of Joseph & the Amazing Technicolour Dream
Coat. She also participated in several theatre workshops with actors: Sonya Talis, Dean
Carey, and David Van Vuuren.
In 2002, Karina performed in Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing and received an award
for her portrayal of Balthazar and Watch Two. Her other theatre credits include: Headline
News (Cozbi), The Merry Widow (A Grisette), Shakespeare's Macbeth & King Lea (The
Third Witch), and Angles Unaware (A Towns Person). Karina has also done several dance
productions including: The Senior Gala Performance Nights, Sydney's Festival of Dance, and
Elance - Moving Ahead.
Karina writes her own songs. Since 1997, Karina has performed in various Sydney venues
including: Concord RSL Club, Western Sydney Rugby Club, The Illinois Hotel, Mancinies
Italian Restaurant, The Sunday Lounge, and Five Dock RSL Club.
Karina has also done charity work for various organizations including: The Field of Women,
Compassion Child Sponsorship, The Malcom Sargent's Music A-thon, The AIDS Trust of
Australia, and World Vision.

SHERRY ANNE HAYES
Sherry-Anne has recently returned from London where she has been living and
working for the past 2.5 years. Originally from Perth, Sherry-Anne trained at the West
Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) completing a Certificate II in Music Theatre
and also attended the Full Time Performing Arts course at Brent Street Studios in Sydney.
Sherry-Anne started performing from an early age in a variety of fields and has performed
in various Musicals, Plays, Concerts, Cabarets and Corporate Events in Perth, Sydney and
London. Recent performance highlights include; Swing Time with the Andrews
Sisters , Downstairs at the Maj,Songs From The Girl Next Door- Doris Day
for the Morning Melodies series at His Majestys Theatre, The Nightmare Before
Christmas as Sally at French Woods Festival in New York, Lights!
Camera!....Overture! her one woman cabaret show as part of the Cabaret Soiree series
Downstairs at the Maj, Little By Little in the Lead role of Woman
2 at Jermyn Street Theatre, London, West End & Hollywood Live as Ensemble
at Queens Theatre, London, DAMAGED as Lola for Deeply Suspicious Theatre for
the Cabaret Soiree series Downstairs At The Maj, and My Fair Lady
and The Wizard of Oz for Onstage Productions at the Regal Theatre.
For Nickelodeon Sherry has appeared in the acclaimed Rugrats show as the
character Chuckie, she was a Featured Dancer for Johnson &
Johnsons Kids Mascots and Compere for Bob the Builder show
for Promotechnics. She has also performed the role of Meg in the Perth based
childrens group The Kiddywinks.
On film, Sherry has appeared in the Feature Film A Day At Oasis in the role of
Kylie (still in production) for Caffeine Pills Productions, and in the Documentary

KAREN HURLEY
Karen Hurley graduated with a Bachelor of Music majoring in Vocal Performance in
2003 from Charles Darwin University. Classically trained, Karen excelled in singing and
was awarded prizes for 'Outstanding Progress by a Vocal Studies Student' by the School of
Music and, in her final year, 'Outstanding Performance by a Graduating Student'.
In 2003 Karen won the Northern Territory Young Achiever of the Year - Arts Award, a
tribute to her exceptional talent as a singer, dancer and actor and her contribution to
the performing arts in the community.
Karen performed major roles in a variety of productions including The Cherry Orchard
(Darwin Theatre Company), Fiddler on the Roof (Superstar Productions), The Merchant of
Venice (Cavenagh Theatre Company) and Cinderella's Birthday (Mighty Good Entertainment). A
celebrated singer, Karen was often invited as guest vocalist with the Darwin Symphony
Orchestra including a tour to the Kimberly Moon Festival in Kununurra WA.
In her spare time, Karen taught singing, worked as a voice over artist and was a regular
presenter for ABC Television Darwin.
Karen moved to Sydney in 2004 to pursue a carer in musical theatre and completed the Brent
Street Full Time Performing Arts course. Karen's outstanding talent for singing soon had
her performing in various productions culminating in a solo vocal performance at the Brent
Street Graduation at the Theatre Royal. Karen impressed musical theatre personality Margi
De Ferranti and was invited to be part of her show This Joint is Jumping at the Morning
Melodies held at the Star City Casino. |

JAMES MILLAR
James graduated from The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 2003.
There, he was directed in performance by tutors including David King, Tony Sheldon, Nick
Enright, Roma Conway, Rhys Mconnochie, Adam Cook, Tony Sheldon, John Milson and Nancye
Hayes. Productions for WAAPA include the original recording and premiere performance of
"Up" by Eddie Perfect, Susannah, Spurboard, The Pajama Game, Pacific Overtures
(The Reciter), Perfectly Frank, The Crucible, Fiddler on the Roof (Tevye) and The Wild
Party (Sam).
Other stage credits include Stirfry Cabaret at Kulcha in Fremantle, Morning Melodies at
His Majestys Theatre in Perth, Assassins and Piangere.
For television, James has had featured roles in The Investigators, A Country Practice, The
Leaving of Liverpool, Police Rescue, Home and Away, Water Rats, and the role of Jake
Blainey in Neil Armfields Naked: Coral Island for the ABC. He has also appeared on
Mornings With Kerri-Ann. Radio credits include The Memoirs of Young Mozart (Wolfgang) and
Shiver in the River for ABC radio.
James was also trained in writing at The University of Technology, Sydney, and penned his
own cabaret show Moments of Breathtaking Stupidity which was performed in both
Sydney and Melbourne in 2004. He was also the winner of the 2004 Premiere Cabaret
Showcase in Sydney which resulted in the performance of his second cabaret show,
Other Peoples Stories, followed by a December performance of
"Shopping Centre Santa: A Cabaret".
James has also performed at the launch of the 150th anniversary of the Eureka Stockade at
Ballarat and sang with Ian Stenlake, Michael Cormick, Simon Gleeson and Rachel Beck for
the 2004 Variety Club Ball at Crown Casino in Melbourne. Most recently, James played the
principal role of Frederic Vern in the world premiere production of Eureka at Her
Majestys Theatre in Melbourne and is next to appear in the Raise the
Roof Tsunami appeal concert at the State Theatre in Sydney. |

JENNIFER PEERS
Soprano,
Jennifer Peers, is one of Australia's rising musical theatre talents with a list of
credits including: Peaches in Jerry Springer the Opera
at the Sydney Opera House, Opera Australia's national tour of My Fair Lady and Frieda/Betty in Sunday In The Park With George for the Q Theatre.
She originated the role of Minnie Davies in the premiere of Australian musical The Hatpin, and is also featured on the cast recording.
Originally from Brisbane, Jennifer graduated from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music
in 2001 with a Bachelor of Music (Voice). She then continued her study at the
Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts completing a Bachelor of Arts (Music
Theatre) in 2004. In 2007, Jennifer was awarded a Buzz Grant for emerging musicians
by The Foundation for Young Australians.
Jennifer has a strong interest in the workshop and development of new Australian work,
having created roles in Every Single Saturday
(Liz) for the Australia Council, Crusade (Nun) for
Kookaburra and Palace Whore (Sarah Bernhardt) for
the Short, Sweet and Song festival.
As a cabaret artist she has performed her show, Poison
Soprano, in an acclaimed season at Statement Lounge and in various concert
appearances including Showqueen Sunday, Up Close
& Musical, Moskaba and Light the Night.

CHRIS ROBERTS
Chris Roberts is a student at the Victorian College of the Arts and is undertaking
the Bachelor of Dramatic Art (Company 2010). He also trained at the Victorian College of
the Arts Secondary School as a dancer and singer and was later lectured in masterclasses
by Phillip Quast and Martin Croft and also with Anne Wood, Ken James and Geraldine Turner.
Widely travelled, he has spent time observing and be tutored in London and New York.
A versatile actor and singer, his recent credits include seasons at La Mama as Arthur
Hobhouse in THE OBJECT OF DESIRE directed by Robert Chuter (2006/07), Melbourne Opera in
THE BARBER OF SEVILLE (State Tour) and DIE FLADERMAUS both directed by Hugh Halliday,
Opera Australia in DER ROSENKAVALIER directed by Brian Fitzgerald and DON CARLOS,
Melbourne City Opera in CARMEN as well as a soloist in the 2005 CAPERS CABARET SHOWCASE
accompanied by Mark Jones and hosted by Melissa Langton. Chris has appeared in television
series including NEIGHBOURS (Grundys/Souther Star), SCOOTER SECRET AGENT (Jonathan M.
Shiff Productions) and BLUE HEELERS, among others, as well as commercial voice-over work,
most recently for FARMERS UNION. Recent short films include I'M HERE and TAKE CARE
directed by Ryan A. Lloyd, THIS CITY directed by Alice Foulcher and IRREPLACEABLE YOU
directed by Julie Morris.
His previous music theatre, play and dance credits with various companies include SWEENEY
TODD (Title Role), INTO THE WOODS (Repunzels Prince/Swing), CHICAGO (MC), Peter
Schaffers AMAEDUS (Von Strack), SHINE (Dept .Education and Training), ASCENSION
(Corps de Ballet, VCASS), DANCE DIMENSIONS (Corps de Ballet, Minor Soloist, VCASS), OS
IUSTI (SMGS), AFTERFACE (Soloist, SMGS) and REVELATIONS! (Soloist, SMGS).
In 2006 he received an Ian Potter Foundation/St. Martin's Youth Arts Centre Mentorship
Grant as an actor and worked with Australian writer and director Dean Bryant.

MATT YOUNG
Matt Young began his professional career in 1990 as an uncertain angel Gabriel in
THE BUTTERFINGERS ANGEL
in Greenwich Village in New York City.
Originally from the USA, Matt grew up in Gardner, Massachusetts and graduated from New
York University's musical theatre program. He has performed in all but three of the US
states, in shows including THEY'RE PLAYING OUR SONG, A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO
THE FORUM, WEST SIDE STORY, THE WIZARD OF OZ, OKLAHOMA!, GUYS AND DOLLS, and the Broadway
tour of A CHORUS LINE. Whilst living in New York City, he also appeared in the films A
BEAUTIFUL MIND, KATE AND LEOPOLD, and K-PAX. In Europe, Matt performed in the touring
company of Leonard Bernstein's ON THE TOWN.
Since moving to Sydney in 2001, Matt has appeared in Stephen Sondheim's ASSASSINS, the
world premiere of the comedy ANY PORT IN A STORM, and with the Bondi Ballet. On Australian
television hes had guest appearances on COMEDY, INC. and GOOD MORNING AUSTRALIA, as
well as film roles in independent shorts and features including SOUVENIR, STALKERS, INC.,
and BEING TRACEY.
From 2004-2005 Matt was thrilled to create and perform the roles of the Blind Violinist,
Scott, the gay choreographer, Donald Dinsmore, the little wooden boy, and the
Prison Guard in the Helpmann Award winning original Australian cast of THE PRODUCERS, the
new Mel Brooks musical.
Matt has several projects currently in development. BACK FROM FRONT, a new dance/physical
theatre piece for Dean Walsh and One Xtra Company explores the effect of war on soldiers
returning to the home front. Also, LOOKING FOR CAPTAIN COOK (working title), in which Matt
portrays famous English explorer Captain James Cook, is a four part documentary drama
series directed by AFI nominated director Wain Fimeri and based on author and historian
Vanessa Collingridges acclaimed biography.
This year Matt brached out into choreography, and is excited to follow on from his
successes staging the DIVA Award winning opening number for HATS OFF 2006 at Star City
Showroom, as well as the critically praised PUTTING IT TOGETHER for Big M Productions/
Focus Theatre. |
